This year's edition of the Johns Creek Founders Day Parade will have a new location and route – on Lakefield Drive and Johns Creek Parkway near the new City Hall, according to a city announcement.

“This route follows the tree-lined streets of Technology Park, past City Hall, and gives greater opportunities for more spectators to watch the parade without blocking any major roadways,” Mayor Mike Bodker said.

The 1.3-mile parade, which officials said marks the start of the holiday season in North Fulton County, steps off at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, by Lifetime Fitness on Lakefield near its intersection with Johns Creek Parkway. It will follow Lakefield through Technology Park and return on Johns Creek Parkway to its point of beginning.

This year's theme is "Happy Holidays." Civic groups, homeowners associations, Scout troops and businesses are invite to participate; the deadline to enter is Nov. 4. To do so online, go to: https://bit.ly/2N0kwiy
