Johns Creek invites residents to get a detailed look at Fire Department operations at the next Citizens Fire Academy.

The academy meets for nine classes Feb. 5-April 26. Weeknight classes are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday classes meet from 9 a.m. to noon. Most classes will be held at Station 62, 10925 Rogers Circle.

Participants will learn about Johns Creek Fire Department operations, tactics and strategies, according to a city announcement. There will be instruction in equipment and fire prevention; demonstrations of CPR and investigative techniques, and practical fire ground training and emergency medical exercises.

The Fire Academy is open to persons 18 years of age and older who live or work in Johns Creek and pass the application process and criminal history check.
