Johns Creek has called a special meeting for later this month to let residents view plans, ask questions and comment on a proposed widening of Jones Bridge Road.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 19 on the third floor of City Hall, 12000 Findley Road, to discuss improvements to a 1.5-mile segment of Jones Bridge from Sargent to McGinnis Ferry roads.

Plans call for widening Jones Bridge from two to four lanes; adding a landscaped median; creating a 10-foot-wide multi-use trail on the west side of the road; and making operational improvements at intersections such as turn lanes, revised traffic signals, and reconfiguring the existing pavement to allow two through lanes.

The public can stop by any time during the two-hour meeting. While no formal presentation is planned, engineers will be available to answer questions.
