Johns Creek has put out a call for volunteers to serve on the Planning Commission, Public Art Board and Board of Zoning Appeals.

Interested residents can nominate themselves, and the mayor and City Council appoint them. "Residents with the time, ability and desire to actively participate on these boards are asked to please apply online," the city says. To do so: http://bit.ly/2pkmd1A

The Planning Commission, which has seven members, reviews zoning cases and makes recommendations to the mayor and council. Members serve two-year, staggered terms. The commission meets on the first Tuesday of the month.

The five-member Public Art Board reviews proposals for public art and makes recommendations to the council. Members serve four-year terms and meet as proposals are received.

The Board of Zoning Appeals has seven members, decides cases requesting variances and/or code interpretations, and hears appeals of staff decisions. Members serve two-year, staggered terms and meet on the third Tuesday of the month.
