Johns Creek is inviting residents to a public input meeting on a new road proposed from Bell Road to Johns Creek Parkway to provide improved access to Technology Park.

The meeting is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Municipal Court, 11445 Johns Creek Parkway.

The two-lane roadway, expected to cost $2.5 million in 2016 dollars, is a “Tier I” project to be funded by the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax approved by voters in November 2016. It may include such improvements as sidewalks, trails and landscaping. Construction is expected in late 2019.

A fact sheet on the project cited such factors as housing construction in an adjacent neighborhood, Bellmoore, that will add more than 600 new residents to the corridor at full build-out; plans to expand two nearby churches, Johns Creek Presbyterian and Johns Creek United Methodist; and a new 20-acre Linear Park and new City Hall in Technology Park.
