The Johns Creek City Council has voted to reduce the number of days an alcohol license is suspended for a restaurant that allegedly failed to meet a city requirement that at least half of its total sales be for non-alcohol items.

The council reduced to 14 days a 30-day license suspension for Bliss AG LLC, 10305 Medlock Bridge Road.

Retail excise tax returns for August through December, 2018, showed food and nonalcoholic beverages accounted for roughly 33 to 37 percent of sales, according to a notice of intent to suspend letter to the restaurant.

An administrative hearing was held March 5. After considering testimony and arguments, City Manager Warren Hutmacher found Bliss failed to comply with the 50-percent food and nonalcoholic beverage requirement and ordered a 30-day license suspension. The restaurant had the right to appeal the decision to the City Council.

According to its website, the "Bliss Sip Lite Lounge" is a hookah bar with music and food. Information: http://www.blissbarandlounge.com/
