Johns Creek has announced an online calculator tool that officials say will help homeowners calculate and verify the 2019 property tax exemptions on their assessment notices. The Homestead Exemption Calculator Tool is available at: https://bit.ly/2LNJMKB

Fulton County voters approved nine new homestead exemptions last November, according to a Johns Creek city announcement. All homesteaded properties in Fulton now benefit from at least one of the exemptions, which were automatically applied to properties with existing homestead exemptions.

By this time, property owners in Johns Creek should have received their 2019 assessment notices from the Fulton County Assessor's Office. (Those who haven't should go to www.fultonassessor.org to view it.)

“With a 2019 property assessment appeal deadline of Aug. 2, homeowners will want to make sure they understand and verify they are receiving the most accurate and correct exemption calculation,” the city said.

“Whether this is a homeowner’s fourth property assessment notice or their 24th, there may be questions about the new homestead exemptions automatically applied to properties with existing homestead exemptions.”
