How you can survive an active shooter event is the topic of a class to be conducted by the Johns Creek Police Department.

The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E.) class is scheduled for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in the classroom of police department headquarters, 11445 Johns Creek Parkway. Registration is required. To sign up: https://crase03-14-19.eventbrite.com

“Instructors will teach this civilian-minded class with tips and strategies to help individuals protect themselves and limit harm should they find themselves in an active shooter situation,” according to a city announcement.

This class is for persons ages 12 and above, officials said, and they asked the public not to bring young children.
