Johns Creek city officials are inviting the public to attend upcoming workshops aimed at helping develop a 10-year master plan for the city’s park system. The two sessions are set for 10-11:30 a.m. July 21 at Johns Creek Fire Station 62, 10925 Rogers Circle, and 6:30-8:30 p.m. the same day at Park Place, Newtown Park, 3125 Old Alabama Road.

The city and a consultant started gathering public feedback in May on what types of facilities and programs residents seem to want most, where they should be placed, and what the city’s recreational priorities should be. Those general concepts will be unveiled at the late July double-header and will be followed by small-group exercises and discussions the same night.

Following the workshops, a draft plan will be presented to the mayor and city council Aug. 24, with a final version ready by Sept. 14.
