The Johns Creek City Council has approved an intergovernmental agreement with Fulton County in which the city will bid and manage a water project involving county lines and be reimbursed by the county.

The agreement is for the intersection improvement project at Barnwell Road and Holcomb Bridge Road (Ga. 140), according to a staff report to the council. Some water facilities – water mains, hydrants, meters and other equipment – must be adjusted or relocated.

“Rather than have Fulton manage that as a separate project, Fulton has agreed to enter into an IGA whereby the city bids and manages the work as an aspect of the overall construction project, and Fulton reimburses the city for the costs,” up to $807,650, staff said. The actual dollar amount will be determined by construction bids received.

The agreement is similar to one adopted in October, 2018, to relocate or replace a water line for the State Bridge Road widening project, staff said.
