Following the successful passage of an open space bond referendum last November, the Johns Creek City Council has voted to issue up to $40 million in bonds for the acquisition, construction and installation of city parks and recreational facilities.

The general obligation bonds will have a term of 30 years. They will pay for such items as a $16 million build-out of Cauley Creek Park, $6.25 million for a Technology Park Linear Park, $4 million for an indoor recreation center, $500,000 for a Rogers Bridge Trail across the Chattahoochee River, and eight other projects.

Construction is expected to begin this year, with all projects completed within five years.
