The Johns Creek City Council has approved a $338,248 contract for improvements to West Morton Road.

The council awarded a contract to EM Concrete to construct a right-turn lane on West Morton at State Bridge Road, and to resurface West Morton from Avian Drive to State Bridge.

West Morton is a collector road that connects Jones Bridge and State Bridge roads, according to a staff report to the council. The work will improve traffic flow and the alignment of a through lane of West Morton across State Bridge.

“The right turn lane was combined with resurfacing Morton Road in order to realize a cost savings by using the same construction contractor,” staff said.

EM Concrete will have 180 days to complete the project.
