A $2.6 million fire station, $400,000 for body-worn cameras for the police and $1.25 million in sound abatement fencing and landscaping for the recently completed Abbotts Bridge Road construction project are among the spending highlights of a balanced budget recently approved by the Johns Creek City Council.

The budget, for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, calls for a $63.2 million general fund, officials said. The document specifies $42.1 million in general funding expenditures for government services and $21 million in maintenance and vehicle accruals, capital projects, city hall debt service and the E911 system.

The budget also allocates $2.7 million for street resurfacing, $1 million for new sidewalks and $250,000 for a storm water system assessment, and sets aside more than $1 million for future storm water improvement projects to be identified and prioritized in the study.

“The FY 2019 budget ensures that the city will continue to provide the high-level, high-quality services desired by our residents,” Mayor Mike Bodker said.
