An employee of the engineering firm that performs public works and recreation and parks operations under contract for Johns Creek has been appointed by the city its new director of public works.
Lynette C. Baker comes to Johns Creek from Jacobs Engineering Group with 22 years of transportation and infrastructure experience, according to a city announcement.
She led a transportation infrastructure group in Atlanta that included highway and bridge design, traffic and ITS services, environmental planning services, program and construction management, construction engineering and inspection, civil site development, and survey/laser scanning, officials said. She also has managed state and county transportation projects from inception to completion.
Baker has a bachelor’s degree in environmental biology from Colgate University. She has lived in Johns Creek for 14 years with her husband and two daughters, has served on the Shakerag Elementary School Governance Board, and was a Fulton County School Governance Council community representative.
