The Atlanta Regional Commission has bestowed a CREATE Community Award on the city of Johns Creek for its smartphone app, JC Now.

The app, released in December 2014, won in the technology category. It can send emergency push notifications from the city and gives users access to interactive maps, news articles, city council agendas, social media and contact information.

The award was presented at the ARC’s March 25 board meeting.
