Johns Creek has installed a new pedestrian crosswalk for parents and students along Buice Road near Dolvin Elementary School.

The crosswalk has a landscaped island and in-pavement lights and its solar powered. It also is the first in the city with “Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons.”

When a pedestrian pushes a button to activate the lights, they display an irregular flashing pattern similar to the emergency flashers on public safety vehicles. The flashers stay lighted long enough to let a pedestrian cross the street.
