The stage is set for better public safety communications in Johns Creek.

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners last week joined Johns Creek City Council members in approving an intergovernmental agreement for the city to build a 195-foot communications tower on Old Atlanta Road in Forsyth County. The tower’s meant to eliminate gaps in coverage and signal-penetration-into-building issues in northeast Johns Creek.

The problems have persisted despite upgrades to the current Johns Creek public safety tower at Jones Bridge and Morton Roads. Under the deal, Forsyth County can also utilize the tower for its own radio communications.
