Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker and city council members will conduct a town hall meeting on the proposed FY 2016 budget. It’s set for 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at Johns Creek City Hall, 12000 Findley Road.

The $53.4 million 2016 plan-up from roughly $50 million in 2015-calls for a number of new initiatives, including widening a heavily-used stretch of Kimball Bridge Road, hiring a number of additional police officers and firefighters, and developing/completing two parks. The budget also features a “scorecard” prioritization system for capital projects that rates and prioritizes requests from city departments.

Final adoption of the budget is scheduled for the end of the month. The new fiscal year begins Oct. 1.
