As part of the I-85 Widening Project, Georgia Department of Transportation construction partners will close the Liberty Church Road/Jesse Cronic Road Bridge over I-85 to perform bridge demolition and replacement. The bridge will be closed for about 6 months beginning June 17.
Temporary signage will detour traffic from Liberty Church Road/Jesse Cronic Road to Braselton Parkway and Green Street/State Route 53. Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits and traffic control measures when moving through the construction zone.
The widening project will increase I-85 from two to three lanes in both directions from I-985 to State Route 53. Additional work on the project includes replacing three overpass bridges along I-85. Information about: www.tinyurl.com/85Widening.
