Randy Elom reads a passage in Galatians during the morning session. About 9,000 people are expected to attend this weekend's convention. The event takes place on three successive weekends and ends with a three-day event on Aug. 24.

Families and friends watch the baptism ceremony. In the United States, there will be 305 conventions in 76 cities. In Georgia there are 75 congregations participating in the convention.

Derek Taylor, a traveling minister from Dalton, speaks about baptism. The theme for this year is Guided by God's Spirit.
