Labor Day is for doing the opposite of work.

So if you believe traveling OTP — outside the perimeter — is work, then this list of Intown Atlanta events is for you.

• Dragon Con

The beloved fantasy convention is held downtown, surrounding the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, from Aug. 30-Sept. 3. For the hardcore, there will be plenty of games, panel discussions, fan events and celebrity meet-and-greets; for the spectators, there will be the enormous parade on Sept. 1.

Behold, the AJC guide to Dragon Con. Plus, here's where to eat and drink.

• LudaDay Weekend

Christopher "Ludacris" Bridges will be holding events, such as the TopGolf Takeover, across Atlanta from Aug. 31-Sept. 3. The event continues Luda’s long tradition of raising funds over the weekend that go towards The Ludacris Foundation and other charities benefiting children.

• Atlanta Black Pride Weekend

One of the world's largest Black Gay Pride events is held Aug. 29-Sept. 4 in locations across the city. It includes a symposium, seminars, social events and, from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, Piedmont Park's Pure Heat Community Festival.

• 2018 National Puppet Slam:

Short-form puppetry performances from national artists take place at the Center for Puppetry Arts from Aug. 31-Sept. 2. Guests must be at least 18 years old, and those 21 and older may head to the museum's beer and wine bar beginning an hour before show time.

• Taste Of Soul Atlanta Festival Concert Series

This free music festival is held in Vine City from Sept. 1-2 and is to be headlined by Kelly Price and PJ Morton.

• Chick-fil-A College Football Kickoff games

Head to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday to watch the Auburn Tigers vs. the Washington Huskies.
