Gwen Brown-Patterson, a 29-year veteran of DeKalb County’s finance department, has been named interim director of the department.

Brown-Patterson will oversee 10 analysts and work with county leaders in preparing the 2014 budget, due in December.

She will earn $162,000 in the role as the county plans for a national search for a permanent replacement to recently retired director Joel Gottlieb.
