The Georgia Department of Transportation will have an open house to discuss the proposed construction of a new interchange on I-985 north of the State Route 13 crossover in Hall County 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin Technology Academy of Math and Science, 4216 Martin Road in Flowery Branch.

The proposed plans call for the construction of a new diamond interchange on 1-985 near Martin Road between Exit 12/Spout Springs Road in Flowery Branch and Exit 16 /SR 53 in Oakwood. The four lane road section will also include four-foot bike lanes on each side, 12-foot urban shoulders, curb and gutter and 5-foot sidewalks.

This project is intended to provide direct access to I-985 for the traffic generated by the existing and proposed development along SR 13/Falcon Parkway, Thurmond Tanner Parkway and McEver Road.
