No one was injured Monday in a small fire that forced the evacuation of the Delta Air Lines maintenance facility at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Delta spokeswoman Ashley Black told the AJC that the fire broke out around 8 a.m. in the facility's engine shop, and was quickly doused.

Black said no planes or aircraft engines were damaged by the fire.

Employees in that area of the building were sent home due to the lingering smoke from the fire, but those in other parts of the maintenance facility have returned to work, she said.
