No injuries were reported Wednesday in a predawn fire that destroyed a vacant house in DeKalb County.

The blaze broke out around 4:30 a.m. in the 4200 block of North Goddard Road near Klondike Road.

DeKalb fire Battalion Chief Jeff Crump said the building was about 80 percent involved in flames when firefighters arrived.

Crump said the call originally came in as a business fire, but turned out to be an uninhabited residence adjacent to an auto body repair shop.

"It's probably where the people that owned the business lived, but we have not spoken to the owner, have not seen anyone," Crump told the AJC.
