A 7-month-old boy was killed Friday in Troup County when storms toppled a tree into a family’s house, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Katrina Slaughter, her two daughters and four grandchildren were in the home in West Point when the storm hit. Family members say they couldn’t get to the child, identified by Channel 2 as Kyren Davis.

“I looked up and I see the tree coming into the house,” Slaughter said. “And it fell down on us. Once it hit, we all fell to the ground. She had her baby, holding one of the twins. The other baby was on the bed. We didn’t hear him crying or nothing. That’s when we were screaming, trying to figure out how we were going to get out because we were trapped where everything had fell on top of us.”

The 7-month-old twin brother of the boy killed, a 1-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl were handed out a window to neighbors outside, Channel 2 reported.
