Four Alpharetta residents have qualified as candidates for three City Council seats up for election in November, and two of them are running as unchallenged incumbents, city officials confirmed.

Incumbent council members Donald Mitchell in Post 1 and Chris Owens in Post 3 both qualified and are running unopposed.

Two candidates qualified in Post 2: Ben Burnett, a Planning Commission alternate since July 2016; and Ben Easterling, Recreation Commission chairman since 2012. Both resigned their commission seats to run for council. The Post 2 incumbent, Council Member Mike Kennedy, is not seeking re-election.
