Inauguration Thursday for DeKalb officials

Many of the recently elected officials in DeKalb County will be sworn into office in a joint inauguration ceremony Thursday evening.

Officials being sworn in include CEO Burrell Ellis, members of the county’s board of commissioners and board of education, the county solicitor and judges from magistrate, probate, state and superior courts.

The session begins at 3 p.m. at St. Philip AME Church, 240 Candler Road, Atlanta. The ceremony is open to the public and features light refreshments following the inaugurations.
