Improvements planned for Peachtree City’s Drake Field

Peachtree City will ask Fayette County to amend the dredging contract for Lake Peachtree so that the city can make improvements to Drake Field after the dredging is complete.

City Manager Jon Rorie told the city council last week that some types of development at Drake Field, such as additional paving, are prohibited by the terms of the site’s greenspace provisions. However, plans for a gazebo, swings, benches, lighting, erosion control and drainage repairs would allow the park to be made better than the “original condition” noted in the county contract.
