Called its “cognitive cooking,” a database full of recipes is remixed and researchers help by using ideas from chemistry and psychology to find what people would enjoy.

Watson created the Bengali Butternut BBQ Sauce, which was only bottled for a short time. That recipe includes squash, Thai chilies, tamarind and several other things.

Food critics tried out Watson’s sauce and actually liked it. Mark Wilson at Fast Company described the concoction as “a Thai mustard sauce, or maybe the middle point between a BBQ sauce and a curry.”

When it’s not busy creating the next great sauce, Watson has been known to destroy all competition on Jeopardy and has even done some work in the medical field.
