A crash involving a school bus and a minivan in Gwinnett County on Tuesday afternoon sent at least one person to the hospital, and ambulances were at the scene checking for additional injuries, police said.

The accident occurred about 3:20 p.m. on Ga. 78 at Highpoint Road, according to Cpl. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County Police Department.

One person, believed to be the minivan’s driver, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital by the Gwinnett County Fire Department, Smith said.

Emergency personnel were checking students on the bus, but no serious injuries were expected.
