Three people were hurt when a man crashed an SUV into a Malone's Steak and Seafood restaurant Wednesday, police said.

The crash happened at the Virginia Avenue location about 5:30 p.m., East Point police spokesman Capt. Cliff Chandler said.

Police didn’t immediately know if the driver, later identified as 30-year-old Dustin Lee Bailey, was intoxicated or if he drove through the restaurant window by accident.

Bailey was arrested on a reckless driving charge, Chandler said.

Additional charges could be added depending on test results, Chandler said.

The three people injured were seated in the dining room when the SUV plowed into their table, Chandler said. Chandler said one person was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The restaurant will be closed for repairs.
