A longtime Atlanta hotel builder has broken ground on a new hotel by Marriott in Midtown.

Winter Construction is building the project, which is dual-branded as AC Hotel and Moxy Hotel.

The 155-room Moxy, "designed for millennials," will be the first in Georgia, according to a news release. Moxy's website describes itself as "a boutique hotel with the social heart of a hostel" where "the bar is always open and the crew is always on."

The AC Hotel, which will have 133 rooms, seems to cater more to the business-minded. It has a co-working space, WiFi everywhere and a "European-inspired breakfast."

The building, on 14th Street between Peachtree and West Peachtree streets, will be 266,000 square feet total. It’ll include several levels of parking.

Winter has been building hotels for decades and has a solid presence in Georgia. Some of its recent projects include constructing a high-rise apartment building two blocks east of the AC Hotel/Moxy Hotel project site, building the Solis Hotel at Two Porsche Drive, finishing an addition to Chateau Elan in Braselton and building a hotel in Savannah.

For the dual-branded Midtown project, Noble Investment Group is the developer and Cooper Carry is the architect.

Winter and Cooper Carry collaborated on the AC Hotel Buckhead that opened next to Phipps Plaza in 2016.
