Three people were in critical condition Sunday after a crash at Cobb and Barrett parkways, Cobb County police said.

Five people had to be extricated after the collision between a van and a pickup truck, Cobb police spokesman Sgt, Dana Pierce said. Emergency crews had to close lanes to get trapped passengers out.

A driver was suspected of being intoxicated, police on the scene of the accident told Channel 2 Action News.

None of the injured had died as of Sunday afternoon, Pierce said. He could not confirm any cause of the accident at 2:30 p.m.
