Hosea Feed the Hungry hosts annual MLK holiday dinner

Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless will host its 44th annual Martin Luther King Jr. holiday dinner from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the Georgia World Congress Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse.

The Atlanta-based nonprofit wants to raise awareness about such issues as employment and poverty. Fifty years ago, President Lyndon Johnson launched the War on Poverty.

“The new face of poverty is women and children. Because they can’t find jobs, mothers are living in their cars, trying to keep the family together.” Elisabeth Omilami,president and CEO of Hosea Feed the Hungry said in a statement.

Hosea Feed the Hungry is also seeking donations of blankets and toiletries. Items can be delivered to the Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless Distribution Center, 1035 Donnelly Ave..
