Cobb County's Democratic Representatives -- Stacey Evans, Alisha Morgan and David Wilkerson -- will host the first in series of statewide listening tours tonight to understand better how cuts to the HOPE scholarship program will impact citizens.

The program is at 6:30 p.m. at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta

Georgia's HOPE scholarship is the largest merit-based scholarship program in the United States, but it faces a $243 million budget shortfall. Implemented in 1993, HOPE has covered full tuition and a portion of fees and textbooks for 1.3 million Georgia students.

Several other forums have been scheduled around the state for later this month. For more information, call 404-656-5059 or email staff@gahousedems.com.
