Let children push a firetruck’s buttons instead of yours this weekend.

The City of Kennesaw is holding a free Touch-A-Truck event Saturday at Depot Park, 2828 Cherokee St.

Kiddos will be able to push every button, flip every switch and pull every lever on 40 different public safety and unique vehicles.

This is an all-star lineup of stuff children have asked about from the backseat while sitting in traffic: a fire engine, a helicopter, a tractor-trailer, a front-end loader, a concrete mixer truck and a 40-ton crane.

There's also the No. 88 Nationwide Insurance Dale Earnhardt, Jr., NASCAR show car and driving simulator along with "the actual Wagon Queen Family Truckster" featured in the 2015 National Lampoon's remake entitled "Vacation," the city said in a Facebook post.

If hopping into firetrucks and helicopters works up an appetite, food and beverages will be available for purchase.
