Clayton County police on Tuesday released the names of the home invasion suspect killed in a wreck early Monday and his two alleged accomplices who were taken into custody after the crash.

The three men, who had allegedly forced entry into a home on Fairway Pointe Drive around 3:4o a.m. Monday and demanded money and a video game system from the residents, later wrecked in front of Riverdale High School. A police officer responding to the home invasion call was injured in a separate wreck.

Kenneth Kenard Fortson, 21, died when the four-door pickup truck the suspects were traveling in overturned on Roberts Drive.

The driver of the pickup, Denico Deangelo Hawkins, 34, of Atlanta, was charged with armed robbery and burglary, Clayton police Lt. Tina Daniel said.

A second passenger in the truck, 18-year-old Ramon Gartez Blalock of Hapeville, was charged with possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, obstruction of an officer and giving false information.

A Clayton police k-9 officer responding to the home invasion call was involved in a single-vehicle wreck on Point South Parkway just west of Thomas Road. The officer was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center and was conscious and alert, Daniel said. The dog was taken to an emergency animal clinic for treatment.

Roberts Drive in front of the school was closed for several hours after the wreck. It reopened around 9:10 a.m.

Buses into Riverdale High School were  rerouted to the rear of the school.
