Holly Springs city officials will discuss growth trends and future needs during a Saturday retreat.

City manager Rob Logan said the city council and department heads will examine growing population, a jump in building permits and upcoming development, and the projected growth boundary of the city. Also to be looked at are police department and public works service proposals, community development plans and finance and administration topics.

The police staffing proposal recommends adding two sworn officers a year for fiscal years 2017 and 2018 to keep up with expected growth in population and needs for police service.

The retreat begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at Holly Springs City Hall, 3237 Holly Springs Parkway.
