“Motorists should expect delays” as Holly Springs begins paving Hickory Road on the east side of town Wednesday, according to a city announcement.

The city’s contractor, Northwest Georgia Paving Inc., will be working on Hickory from Harmony on the Lakes to Sequoyah Circle, the city said. Repairs and resurfacing should be completed by July 5, weather permitting.

The project will be funded by a Local Maintenance Improvement Grant from the Georgia Department of Transportation. Also included in the 2019 LMIG allocation are repairs to Palm Street from Amanda Lane to the bridge; Spring Way Square; and Rabbit Hill Road from I-575 to Marble Quarry Road.

The city said it has used LMIG grants to fund repairs and resurfacing of more than 15 miles of roadway since 2014.
