The city of Holly Springs is nearing completion on its largest park to date.

J.B. Owens park is on track for opening in June or July, said city manager Rob Logan. He said the playground and pavilions are complete, but some interior work still needs to be done on the restroom, and a bridge will be built at the rear of the park. Another bridge was prefricated and lifted into place with a crane.

The 33-acre, $1.3 million facility is on Hickory Road. Construction began in 2014.
