The Gwinnett County police bomb squad was sent to a Duluth hotel overnight to investigate a suspicious package left outside a guest room.

The incident happened at the LaQuinta Inn on Stephens Center Drive.

“Someone put a hoax device outside their hotel door,” Gwinnett police Cpl. Illana Spellman said.

She said two men who were staying in the room left, and “when they came back, the male who put the hoax device outside the door appeared to be under the influence and was arrested.”

Frank Dallas Hurley of The Colony, Texas, was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail about 1:30 a.m., charged with driving under the influence and the unlawful manufacture of a destructive device, a misdemeanor. He is being held on $7200 bond.
