The Atlanta Falcons are trying to field any thoughts that football isn't safe by cutting them off at the pass.

The team is hosting the last of its four clinics this year on football safety for Cobb County mothers Wednesday.

"These clinics will provide helpful information to moms who have children who are considering or play tackle football," according to the Falcons.

The clinics can also provide some insight into a sport that has been criticized for not doing enough to ensure the safety of players, including younger athletes.

The free clinics will include everything from classroom instruction on proper equipment fitting to concussion awareness and proper tackling techniques.

And, yes, one of the sessions that you will participate in will include on-field drills, the team said.

So please wear appropriate clothing like tennis shoes and athletic apparel.

Participation is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so register here. Check-in starts an hour before the clinic is scheduled to begin. Food and beverages will be provided during check-in.
