The third annual Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival returns to Blackburn Park on March 25 and 26.

That means a free weekend of music, food, dressed-up dogs and plenty more, including a performance by Ed Roland and the Sweet Tea Project, whose singer was the lead singer in Collective Soul.

By the way, all of this free.

“This festival has been a wonderful way to bring our community together and show visitors what’s so special about Brookhaven,” festival chair and founder Rebecca Chase Williams said in a news release. “It’s a great place for families to bring their children to play, residents to host out-of-town guests, couples to meet for a drink and BBQ, and pet lovers to bring their dogs and stroll with us in the Pet Parade.”

The fest runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Some highlights:

  • Arts and crafts market
  • Food trucks and vendors
  • Children's Village (face painting, balloon twisting, sand art creation station, bounce house and rock-climbing wall)

Why cherry blossoms?

In 2014 Brookhaven planted 240 cherry trees in Blackburn Park, which is located at 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road. It’s the official tree of the city.
