North DeKalb Mall’s owners are working through plans to demolish the building and replace it with a mixed-use development including a Costco, more retail and restaurants, as well as housing and a hotel.

Some existing tenants, including AMC and Burlington, are expected to stay.

The mall’s owners, Sterling Organization, have commissioned sketches of what the project would look like. It must be approved by DeKalb County commissioners, and will then likely take a year or two to complete.
