The Georgia School Boards Association announced Dec. 5 that the Henry County Board of Education is now a Distinguished Board. This is the second highest level of recognition that can be received from the GSBA; the highest is Exemplary School Board. Fifty-two of the 180 school boards around the state met and exceeded the criteria to earn the 2014 Distinguished Board recognition, which was designed to showcase best practices in school governance and leadership.
