The Henry County Police Department has been awarded three grants totaling nearly $130,000. All were officially accepted by the Board of Commissioners at its Oct. 4 meeting.

A $70,000 grant from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council is for the purpose of funding the department’s Violence Against Women project.

The department’s HEAT unit is the beneficiary of a $55,200 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, and $4,237 has been given by the Willett Foundation for the support and appreciation of the department’s Motorcycle Unit.
