Two members of the Henry County Police Department were among the hundreds of law enforcement officers from around the country who went to New York to attend the Jan. 4 funeral of NYPD officer Wenjian Liu, who was killed in the line of duty recently. Det. Sgt. Michael Hobgood and HEAT Officer Jason Jones, both members of the HCPD Honor Guard, made the trip, according to a spokesperson. The trip was made possible by the charitable efforts of JetBlue Airlines (airfare), Georgia Wounded Heroes (lodging) and the Henry County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 95 (car rental).
