The Henry County Extension Office, in conjunction with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension, is offering a cooking school for people to learn how to eat and cook while preventing cancer. The Cooking for a Life Time Cancer Prevention School will be Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Extension office. Participants get information from the American Cancer Society on steps they can take to cut their risk of certain cancers. Experts will discuss food choices that promote good health. Instructors will show how to make tasty and healthy dishes that are low in fat, calories and sodium, but rich in fiber. Cost is $2 and pre-registration is required by Dec. 7. Details: 770 288-8421.
