Henry County Animal Care and Control, working with McDonough officials, announced that two dog parks will be closed for 30 days as a rising number of canine influenza virus cases has been reported of late. The Mt. Carmel Bark Park in Hampton, as well as the dog park at Alexander Park in McDonough are closing temporarily as a preventive measure against the dog flu, which has affected several surrounding counties. According to animal control officials, there have been no reported cases of canine influenza in Henry County, and they hope to keep it that way.
